The fact sheet is a homework assignment. It does not have to be elaborate. I am looking for a synthesis of your research presented in a flyer format. You can use a computer, but you can also submit a handwritten document. Regardless of the format, I have looking for what you have determined as the most important information about your endangered animal. You can chose to add creative elements (fonts, pictures, etc) but the information is the focus!
Students should be entering February Break with an independent reading book selected. Over the break they need to read a MINIMUM of 4 times for 25-30 minutes. The pages they read, a brief summary, and their reaction should be recorded on the template provided.
When we return from February Break, students will continuing reading these books and begin preparing for a book talk. This oral presentation, a visual prop or power point to show during the presentation, and a 2 paragraph writing assignment will serve as the Book Report for Quarter 3. OST FOR THE CRITERIA Welcome to the 3rd marking period. We will be using February to revise, edit, and publish our research papers. We will also launch our Power Strategy Groups, where students will collaborate with a group of peers to read and analyze a nonfiction text. These assignments are in school assignments.
Reading Logs will begin again this week for homework (Wednesday night is the first one). A form will go home for students to use. More information on the quarter 3 book report project will go home next week. |
