Dear 7th Grade Parents and Students:
Throughout the year, the 7th Grade Team will be hosting a variety of different PBIS Socials. These activities and trips are designed to reward students for continually being SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL.
It is our hope that every student will have an opportunity to participate in these activities. We seek the input from all teachers students see, including Enrichment classes, Foreign Language and Read 180. We use the following information when selecting which students to invite to socials.
In order to be invited students must:
· Consistently be in uniform
· Have not received any in-school or out-of-school suspensions
· Received no more than 2 PBIS referrals
· Be putting effort into all classes, and cannot be failing any classes
· Consistently complete homework (cannot be missing more than 2 homework assignments per class)
Typically speaking, students will have a “fresh start” after each social. However, students and parents should be aware that the team considers the full year when deciding which students are invited to end of year field trips and activities.
Information regarding each social, including location, cost, and time will be communicated to parents through notices and permission slips sent home with students, and be posted on Ms. Apgar’s website (which can be accessed via the Teacher Directory on MASH’s website).
Our first social of the year will occur on Friday, October 2nd, where students who meet the above criteria will have 1 hour of Open Gym. There is no cost for this activity. In addition to meeting the above criteria, a permission slip must be returned to Ms. Apgar by Thursday, Oct. 1st. This permission slip was sent home with students today, Friday Sept. 25th.
